Fish Safe
As well as keeping your eye out for potential illegal activity
and environmental threats, make sure you keep yourself safe on the
water.
- Tell someone responsible where you’re going, know the
person you’re going with and stick to your planned itinerary.
- Carry a full range of functional safety gear including a lifejacket
for everyone on board and an EPIRB if you are heading offshore.
- Check your equipment thoroughly to make sure everything is
working properly.
- Carry good supplies of fuel, water and spare parts for your
motor.
- Carry charts of the area you’re visiting and be aware
of potential hazards
- Don’t venture out in unsafe weather.
