TEMPORARY MOORING OF PONTOONS AT WICKHAM POINT

SUBJECT: TEMPORARY MOORING OF PONTOONS AT WICKHAM POINT

A PONTOON PLATFORM AND SUPPLY PIPELINE SECURED BY THREE MOORING ANCHORS HAS BEEN MOORED IN POSITION 12 31.7’ S 130 51.59 E.

EACH CORNER OF THE PONTOON AND THE 150 METRES LENGTH OF PIPELINE IS MARKED WITH STROBE LIGHTS.

ALL VESSELS TO KEEP 500 METRES CLEAR.

THIS NOTICE WILL REMAIN IN FORCE UNTIL THE 2ND OF MARCH 2005.

AFANT appoints a new Executive Officer

The Amateur Fishermen’s Association of the Northern Territory Inc (AFANT) today announced the appointment of Mr Chris Makepeace as its next Executive Officer.

“We are delighted that Chris has accepted the position and the Committee and I look forward to working with him on the many important issues impacting on recreational fishing in the NT” Warren de With, President of AFANT said today.

Mr Makepeace is well known in the recreational fishing sector in the NT and has been a part of the fishing scene for many years having been a member of the Barramundi Fishery Advisory Committee, the Amateur Fishermen’s Consultative Committee, the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Recreational Fishing and his involvement in recent years through his work in the fishing media.

Chris also brings with him to the job extensive experience in senior positions in the public service in the NT Government. He worked for a number of Ministers in the NT Government and is well respected for his knowledge and understandings of the machinations of government.

“We are looking for Chris to take AFANT to the next level in its professionalism and dealings with the suite of stakeholders involved in recreational fishing in the NT.

Chris will start with AFANT about 7 March with our current Executive Officer, John Harrison, finishing, after almost 7 years with AFANT, on 31 March. AFANT would like to wish John Harrison the very best for his future endeavours and he will be sorely missed” Mr de With concluded.

THE OCEAN HERCULES IS OPERATING A ROV(REMOTE OPERATED VEHICLE) ON THE GAS PIPELINE IN DARWIN HARBOUR BETWEEN NUMBER 9 BUOY AND CHARLES POINT PATCHES.
ALL VESSELS TO KEEP 3 CABLES(500 METRES) CLEAR AND AT A MAXIMUN SPEED OF 10 KNOTS
THIS NOTICE WILL REMAIN IN FORCE UNTIL 2300 HOURS ON THE 22ND OF FEBRUARY 2005.
